Tele Aid
|
If you require emergency aid, Roadside
Assistance or information while you're traveling in a
Mercedes-Benz equipped with Tele Aid, the Tele Aid system can put
you in touch with the right people, exactly when you need them.
Help is only the push of a button away*.
Tele Aid is our new way of using wireless
technology to provide Mercedes-Benz owners with location-specific
security, information and conveniences.
One push of the SOS button on your
vehicles overhead console connects you with a Mercedes-Benz
Emergency Response Specialist who will summon help to your precise
location, pinpointed by satellite, and stay on the line until help
arrives. Or, deployment of any airbag or ETR (Emergency Tensioning
Retractor) will automatically transmit an emergency call to our
emergency monitoring service.
The wrench button connects you to a
Roadside Assistance Specialist who will know where you are and
what model you're driving, even before you say a word.
And the i button connects you to a Client
Assistance Center Representative, available 24 hours a day to
answer any questions you may have.
Tele Aid enables
precise vehicle location using multiple Global Positioning System
(GPS) satellites. The system offers several advantages over cell
phones. It provides the precise location of your vehicle even when
you cannot. It facilitates quick location by communicating your
vehicle's type and color. And it's a factory-installed system,
crash secured with redundant antennae, 3-watt power and automatic
notification capability upon SRS (Supplemental Restraint System)
deployment.

Flexible Service System
|
Since 1998, all new Mercedes-Benz
vehicles are equipped with the Flexible Service System (FSS). An
electronic monitor checks the quantity and, on the advanced
version in our new family of V6 and V8 vehicles, the condition
of your engine oil. A "wrench light" on your dashboard lets you
know when it's time for a regular maintenance service.
While each Mercedes-Benz is
precision-crafted to exacting standards, not all drivers are
alike. The Flexible Service System (FSS) accommodates the
service requirements created by your individual driving style.
By constantly monitoring your engine oil, the FSS may extend the
service interval, which averages about 10,000 miles, without
sacrificing the performance and protection you expect from your
Mercedes-Benz.*
FSS evaluates engine
temperature, oil level, vehicle speed, engine speed, distance
driven and the time elapsed since your last service. It
determines when your vehicle needs service and alerts you well
in advance.
Each time you start your
engine after you are approximately 2,500 miles or 30 days from
requiring service, the dashboard readout displays a 10-second
message telling you when your vehicle is due for service.
The advanced version of FSS
also alerts you when your oil level is below minimum or above
maximum. It even indicates how much oil you need to add. And if
you add oil between service visits, the system automatically
recognizes the change and lengthens the interval between service
requirements.
*Actual
service intervals vary depending on your driving style and
driving conditions. Maximum service intervals may be limited
by time duration, depending on how you drive.
